pack & ship tips

Packing

If you decide to pack your own box, remember this: choose a strong box (not one that could rip or has less-than-firm sides). Pack your item so it won't rattle around. Is it really fragile? Use four inches of packing materials (such as bubble wrap and peanuts) to provide enough cushioning. If you hear your items shifting around, add more packing materials

String and Wrapping Paper Not Required!

In fact, forget the string--it gets caught in those new-fangled machines! It used to be that we had to wrap boxes with kraft brown paper and string. No more! It's better to use a strong tape to seal the box.

Don't have any? We have plenty at Green Planet Postal, and we'll be sure that your box is properly sealed.

Get the Address Right!

Be sure to include the zip code + 4 in your address--mistakes in the address cause delays in getting your package to its destination in a timely fashion!

Not sure of the full zip code? We can verify addresses and zip codes at the store.

Drop Off Your Packages!

Have a package that's ready to go? You can drop off FedEx, UPS, DHL and USPS packages with us.

Our letter drop is at the front door! You can just drop you stamped letters in there, and we'll get them mailed.

When to track?

If your package got lost, would you want to try to find it? That's called Tracking.

Tracking a package costs a little more.
And, packages usually do arrive. In cases where they don't... If it matters, track it!

Whaddya mean it's more than 44¢?

A regular old letter does cost 44¢. That means up to 13 oz and a "standard" size.

After that, p
rices vary by the shape of the package and by its weight.

If you have something bigger than a #10 envelope, the first class postage will be more than 44¢!
